Forest School

 ballikinrain2.jpg Forest School works with young people in the outdoors over a period of time, introducing responsible risk taking and setting up participants to achieve.  Pupils are supported in their learning and encouraged to explore the outdoor environment and appreciate nature.  Forest School leaders use learning and teaching strategies, which raise self esteem , develop confidence, independence, language and communication skills and increase levels of physical activity and mental well-being.

Forest School provides an inspirational experience for the young person by using the following key features;
- the use of a woodland
- learning linked to the curriculum
- the freedom to explore using multiple senses
- regular contct for the young person
- a high adult to pupil ratio
