Throughcare (Millmuir Farm)

The Ballikinrain "Child Centred - Whole Family" approach results in most Ballikinrain Residential pupils returning home to more positive sustainable situations than they left.  For those for whom a return home, or an alternative family situation is not possible, Ballikinrain "Include Me In" Through Care Services offers a variety of community based homes where no more than two or three children are able to enjoy a therapeutic environment, supported by a staff team tailored to meet each child's individual eeds.  Being community based, children are encouraged to develop interests through local friendships and enjoy the many benefits of being part of a local community.

Millmuir Farm
Millmuir Farmhouse is situated on the edge of a small village near Stirling.  It has three bedrooms providing accommodation for 2 children, with sleep over facilities for staff.  The "farmhouse kitchen" is the centre of this home and much of the ambience of the home which goes a long way  to encouraging a nurthuring and therapeutic experience is provided by the open log fires as well as the professional staff team.

The farmhouse enjoys extensive gardens including an orchard.  Children attend local schools as appropriate and are encouraged to take part in the rich community life.  Being in a rural location, one of the duties of the care team is being part of the local transport pool ferrying children to the cinema and swimming pool in Stirling.
